Dr M: ‘It’s difficult to topple (1MDB) BN’

BN set to laugh all the way to a snap GE14 victory

Dr M: ‘It’s difficult to topple (1MDB) BN’

It sure looks like No News Is Bad News has been spot on in its political analysis and commentaries about the critically fractured Opposition.

Coming from the pragmatic and reality-facing former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Dr M), Malaysians, especially Opposition leaders and unforgiving stubborn voters, better wake up and believe it.

1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) Prime Minister Najib Razak and his Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) are still set to laugh all the way to a snap 14th General Election (GE14) victory. (Read these for context: http://victorlim2016.blogspot.my/2016/10/what-heck-1mdb-pm-najib-has-already-won.html, http://victorlim2016.blogspot.my/2016/10/malaysian-opposition-parties-losing.html, http://victorlim2016.blogspot.my/2016/10/1mdb-pm-najib-set-to-have-it-easy-at.html, http://victorlim2016.blogspot.my/2016/09/pakatan-is-finished-its-now-1mdb-pm.html, http://victorlim2016.blogspot.my/2016/09/1mdb-pm-najib-proving-to-be-more-master.html and http://victorlim2016.blogspot.my/2016/08/malaysian-politics-facing-reality.html)

Dr M, who ruled Malaysia for 22 years as BN chairman and prime minister, knows everything about Umno and BN, and their political strategy and tactics.

He must now be a very frustrated 91-year-old man or politician as he is fighting against time to unite the Opposition parties to square off with BN one-to-one in GE14 to have any real chance of ending Umno’s reign since Merdeka (Independence) 1957.

However, he must be finding it almost impossible to "teach old dogs (the Opposition) new tricks", so to speak. If not, he wouldn’t be lamenting that toppling BN is difficult.
Malaysians face it! This is certainly set to be the common scene after the snap GE14 ballots are counted and tallied.
Face it Malaysians. All the whining and scandals are not going to bring down Najib and his mighty Umno. Only the ballots will.

And that is certainly not going to happen in GE14 or decades to come. Carry on bickering and serving your own selfish political agenda instead of facing reality and focus only on toppling BN.

And continue to remain where you are in the 222-seat Parliament - on the Opposition bench where you can continue whining till Kingdom Come.

No wonder Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong so confidently announced "prematurely" his party's five potential candidates in Selangor for GE14. (Read this for context: http://victorlim2016.blogspot.my/2016/10/yes-1mdb-pm-najibs-snap-ge14-is-on.html)

This was what the Malaysian-banned online news portal Malaysia Chronicle picked up:

"Mahathir admits difficulty in toppling BN

October 9, 2016

Former PM says Opposition only thinks about their respective parties instead of how to unite as a party to defeat Barisan Nasional.

LUMUT: Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has admitted that it would be difficult for the Opposition pact to overthrow the Barisan Nasional (BN) government which comprises 14 political parties.

He said the 14 component parties would help each other during the general election (GE) by voting for candidates fielded in specific areas.

“When a BN candidate is fielded, the other 14 parties (components) will support the candidate and the Opposition will always lose.

“This is because Opposition parties only think about their respective parties instead of thinking of how to unite as a party, that is why it cannot achieve victory,” he said at the launch of the Perak state level Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia here today.
